Papers, Please dev’s marvellous nautical mystery Obra Dinn coming to consoles

Return of the Obra Dinn, the “insurance adventure” from Papers, Please developer Lucas Pope, is making its way to Switch, Xbox One, and PS4 this autumn.

Described as “a first-person mystery adventure based on exploration and logical deduction”, Obran Dinn – which initially launched on PC last year – sees players attempting to piece together the final moments of the merchant ship Obra Dinn, which, despite being declared lost at sea in 1803, mysteriously returns to port with no crew in sight four years later.

In the role of an East India Company insurance investigator, players are armed with a journal and compass (imbued with the power to rewind time and witness each crew member’s final moments, naturally), and tasked with discerning and recording the fates of those onboard.
