Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser is leaving the company in March

Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser will be leaving the Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption studio in March, following an “extended break” that began early last year, according to parent company Take-Two Interactive.

Houser founded Rockstar Games with his brother Sam in 1998, and served as vice president of creative at the company, as well as writer and producer across a wide range of the studio’s games. His lead writing credits include Red Dead Redemption, Bully, and Max Payne 3.

According to a new filing posted to Take-Two’s investor relations website, “After an extended break beginning in the spring of 2019, Dan Houser, Vice President, Creative at Rockstar Games, will be leaving the company” on 11th March, 2020.
