Just before the Tekken 7 Grand Finals at Evo this weekend, a short video featuring Snake speaking over a Metal Gear Solid codec lead attendees to believe the character was officially being teased for inclusion in the game.
Unfortunately for fans, it was all just a joke set up by Evo, which took to Twitter to apologise after it all got a bit out of hand.
In the codec, Snake can be heard saying, “That was some good-ass Tekken” to the game’s producer, Katsuhiro Harada. It was only shown to attendees however, and not played on the official Evo stream.
