This year’s Summer Games Done Quick charity speed-running event will be an online-only event, organisers have announced.
Back in March, organisers made the decision to delay Summer Games Done Quick 2020 – which was originally scheduled to take place this month in Bloomington, Minnesota – in response to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. At the time, it was uncertain if the physical show would be possible when its revised 16th-23rd August date arrived, but an answer has now been given.
“Games Done Quick has been actively monitoring the situation surrounding COVID-19,” organisers wrote in a statement, “As we prioritisze the health and safety of everyone who attends GDQ events, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the on-site portion of Summer Games Done Quick 2020 and instead proceed with an online-only event, called Summer Games Done Quick 2020 Online”.
