The Sims 4 is about to get a little woolier, courtesy of its latest paid DLC expansion, the Nifty Knitting Stuff Pack, which comes to PC, Mac, Xbox One, and PS4 on 28th July.

The Nifty Knitting Stuff Pack is the second Stuff Pack to be built around a theme selected by the Sims 4 community (the first, the Laundry Day Stuff Pack, arrived in 2018), and, as you’d imagine, is focussed on fine art of turning a unassuming ball of yarn into a dizzying assortment of goods.

According to EA, Sims eager to embark on a lifetime of knitting will first need to purchase a yarn basket; once suitably equipped, they’ll then have to start modestly, fashioning the likes of socks and beanies, but will eventually be able to focus on increasingly elaborate projects – sweaters, baby onesies, toys, and even mailbox cosies – as their skills improve. Particularly proficient Sims can pass on their knitting know-how to others, including children.
