We didn’t get a Gamescom this year, but we did get a Gamescom Opening Night Live – another chance to stare again into the crystal ball of gaming’s future, presented as ever by host Geoff Keighley.
Opening Night Live began with Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War, and a chat about the various things we found out about yesterday – branching narrative within missions, character creation, that kind of thing. We also saw a cut-scene from early in the game where the team are briefed on the Perseus threat and meet president Reagan.
Next was a debut trailer for a game named Unknown9: Awakening, from Reflector Studios, starring a young Indian girl with supernatural powers. It looked promising, if mysterious.
