December’s in sniffing distance, and a new month means a new batch of games for PlayStation Plus subscribers, which this time include Worms Rumble, Just Cause 4, and Rocket Arena.
Worms Rumble is the newest game on that list – so new, in fact, that it’s not even out yet – and sees developer Team17 taking the classic turn-based Worms formula, and attempting to spin it into a fully 3D, real-time arena-based multiplayer game. Whether its radical rethink will appeal to Worms fans remains to be seen, but its inclusion as a PlayStation Plus title should help get at least a few bums on seats and curious sorts into the matchmaking pool.
The same might be said for Rocket Arena, EA’s colourful competitive multiplayer shooter, which launched at a premium price in July to little fanfare and has barely been heard of since. Amazon Prime and EA Play subscribers have already received this as a freebie, but EA continues its attempts to rouse the interest of the masses by shoving it onto PlayStation Plus in December, presumably in the hope of giving the game – which has a 30-day player average of just 22.4 on Steam according to Steam Charts – a much-needed shot in the arm.
